JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) -- A Jacksonville man has been sentenced to life in prison for killing another man outside a gas station.
A Duval County judge sentenced Cary Alonzo Austin on Wednesday. A jury found him guilty in February of first-degree murder.
Authorities say 41-year-old Tracy Lee Lewis was found fatally shot outside a BP gas station in March 2009. The Florida Times-Union reports that Austin was arrested in July 2009 after four witnesses gave police information about the shooting. No motive for the murder was ever determined.
Austin has also been sentenced to 10 years in prison for an unrelated armed robbery charge involving a car he stole several hours before killing Lewis. That term will run concurrently with his life sentence.
