Man Survives Jump to I-85 in Alabama

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) -- Police in Montgomery say a man survived jumping off an overpass onto Interstate 85 during rush hour.
Authorities were called to I-85 southbound around 6 p.m. Monday after a man jumped off a bridge onto the pavement below.
Crews diverted interstate traffic off the interstate for a short time while authorities gave the man medical care and worked to clear the road.
The man was transported to a Montgomery hospital with life-threatening injuries. But his condition has been upgraded to stable.
Authorities haven't released the man's identity. Police say the jump was an apparent suicide attempt.
