Newspaper Carrier Reports Robbery Attempt

ELKMONT, Ala. (AP) -- Authorities say a 23-year-old newspaper carrier apparently startled two men after he saw them holding handguns on the clerk at an Elkmont truck stop.
The News-Courier in Athens reports that Josh Webster stopped on his usual route at Pam's Truck Stop when he saw two people run into the store around 3:30 a.m. Thursday. Webster is a contract employee who delivers papers to The News Courier paper racks.
Webster says that when he pulled his car in front of the building and looked in, he saw two men inside wearing black, hooded sweatshirts and ski masks holding handguns on the clerk.
When the suspects saw Webster's car, they fled on foot. Webster called 911.
The Limestone County Sheriff's Department is investigating, but no arrests have been made.
