MOBILE, Ala. (AP) -- Stephen E. Richardson has been named special agent in charge of the FBI's Mobile division.
Richardson's appointment was announced Monday by FBI director Robert Mueller. Richardson most recently served as an inspector with the FBI's office of Inspections.
He previously served in FBI offices in Baton Rouge, New Orleans and Baton Rouge. He has specialized in investigating white-collar crime, public corruption, hate crime and gangs. He formed the first organized task force in the western district of Louisiana to combat violent crime.
In 2009, Richardson was promoted to assistant special agent in charge of the Richmond , Va.
He is a native of East Tennessee and is a graduate East Tennessee State University and has a master's degree from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business.
