Small Earthquake Strikes East Alabama

OXFORD, Ala. (AP) -- A small earthquake hit northeast Alabama on Monday morning.
The 2.3 magnitude earthquake struck at 8:16 a.m. Monday, according to the U.S. Geologic Survey. It was centered in the east Alabama city of Oxford.
Jonathan Gaddy, director of the Calhoun County Emergency Management Agency, told the newspaper that his office didn't receive any reports of damage due to the quake.
While the earthquake was not very powerful, it appears to be among the strongest recorded in Calhoun County.
