Soldier Fatally Shot-Voodoo

PHENIX CITY, Ala Authorities say a suspect in the slaying of a Fort Benning soldier told them he committed the crime while under the influence of voodoo.
Russell County sheriff's Sgt. Grover Goodrich testified at a court hearing that Michael "Money Mike" Tucker gave a written statement saying voodoo and voices in his head led him to kill Sgt. 1st Class Donald LaShon Wilson in April.
The soldier was slain in Russell County in Alabama, just across the state line from the Georgia base.
Prosecutors accuse Tucker of being part of a plot to kill the soldier so his wife Gloria Denise Wilson could collect about $450,000 in military death compensation. Authorities also charged Travis Leonard, who they say was having an affair with Wilson's wife.
