TAMPA, Fla. (AP) -- Tampa police are investigating the slaying of an apartment complex security guard.
Police are releasing few details about Wednesday night's slaying at the Grande Oak Apartments. They said the guard was found dead by officers outside the clubhouse with his gun still holstered.
Officers had been responding to the complex after its guards reported a suspect with a warrant. The guard was killed before they arrived. Residents told reporters they heard a shot but police refused to discuss the guard's wounds.
Police detained several people for questioning but no one had been arrested.
