Woman Fined, License Suspended After Crash

PALM COAST, Fla. (AP) -- A 76-year-old woman who drove her car into a Publix supermarket and injured 10 people has been fined and her driver's license has been suspended for three months.
During a hearing on Thursday Judge Sharon Atack ruled that Thelma Wagenhoffer must take a driving test before she can get her license back. The Daytona News Journal reports the judge checked to see if she could suspend the license even longer.
When Wagenhoffer had difficulty hearing the judge, a bailiff gave her headphones that connected to the courtroom's audio system. She entered a no contest plea on the careless driving charge. She was fined $500.
In April, Wagenhoffer's car plowed through the supermarket's entrance, mowing down shoppers, including an elderly man who was pinned under her car.
