Panama City -- Communications giant AT&T is helping a local organization support our troops overseas.

AT&T donated Samsung Galaxy Tablets and a $5,000 dollar check to the Veterans Task Force. Soldiers and their families will be able to use the tablets while enjoying time together. The money will go to the “Packages from Home” project and the 2012 Military Appreciation Day.
“Packages from Home” provides a wide range of goods such as hometown papers, snacks, home-baked goods and letters from home. Members of the Task Force say they appreciate the contributions which will be put to good use.

"My goodness, with AT&T's donation we're going to be able to mail off a whole lot of packages to troops overseas and put a significant amount of military appreciation day in June" said Dan Marvin, Veteran Task Force President.

"We believe very strongly in supporting our community, especially in towns where we have a military presence. Our veterans and our active duty personnel" said Ray Dubuque, AT&T Regional Director External Affairs.

The Veterans Task Force supports military veterans and their families in variety of ways, including grants to vets and their families and the Wounded Warriors Beach Retreat.
