Ala. Guard member injured in Fort Hood shooting
A member of an Alabama National Guard unit is recovering after being wounded in the shooting at Fort Hood in Texas. The military hasn't yet released the soldier's name. But members of the 135th Expeditionary Sustainment Command say he was able to talk to relatives back home shortly after the shooting.

But members of the 135th Expeditionary Sustainment Command say he was able to talk to relatives back home shortly after the shooting.
About 260 members of the unit are at Fort Hood awaiting deployment to Afghanistan later this year. The group departed Birmingham less than a week ago.
