MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) -- The jury selection process has begun at the federal courthouse in Montgomery for the retrial in Alabama's gambling corruption case.
U.S. District Judge Myron Thompson is asking potential jurors whether they have anything that would prevent them from serving.
Attorneys predict it will take four to five days to select a dozen people to hear the case. Jury selection took four days for the first trial.
The defense attorney for casino owner Milton McGregor, Joe Espy, said the standard for jurors is the same as the first trial -- "fair and impartial."
Attorneys plan to question potential jurors about what they know about the first trial and whether it would influence them in the retrial.
The first trial ended with no convictions, two acquittals and some charges undecided.
