GCCC Honors Convocation

Awards were given in a number of categories in recognition of the students' academic achievements.

A large group of scholars received departmental awards which were given to one student from each department, voted on by the faculty of that department.

Another handful of students with the highest cumulative grade point average received the Outstanding Scholar Award.

Other notable honors include the Bob McSpadden. The Outstanding Student Leader Award was presented to Jeremy King. Volleyball player Caitlin Smith was named the Outstanding Student Athlete, and the Florida Nurse Student Association was given the Outstanding Campus Organization Award.

The honors convocation's tradition began in 1961, four years after the school opened.
