Cedar Grove Elementary Celebrates Birthday
|
|
Cedar Grove Elementary is celebrating a milestone today. The school turned the big 50!
Several former and present teachers and principals were on hand to remember the good old days. They also spoke of the progress of the school.
Some current students, as well as some former students, showed up to remember where they began their school careers. They even got the teachers to sing the school song with some of the elementary kids. The day was filled with laughter and memories about how it used to be.
Principal Billy may was glad to see everyone and couldn't believe the school is 50.
Billy May said, "I believe that through the tradition that we've established and through the things we're doing now that you will see this school being a preeminent school in our district. We appreciate everybody coming out, we've had a good time today, and it’s just hard to believe that we've got a 50-year-old school here."
The school opened its doors in 1958 with just six faculty members and a principal. Today the school has 55 teachers.
