According to the most recent preliminary figures, Gulf Coast Community College is posting an 3.9% overall Full Time Equivalent, or FTE, increase in enrollment for the Fall 2009 term as compared to the Fall 2008 term. Student headcount is also up 3.6% compared to one year ago.

The highest percentage of GCCC’s student population groups also showed positive increases:

General education and university transfer (degree-seeking) students increased 5% in headcount while FTE increased 3.7%
Postsecondary vocational (career-based, terminal programs) classes rose by 4.1% in FTE College Prep numbers increased 1.9% in headcount and 4.7% in FTE

“We are going to keep pushing our message out there that everyone can attend Gulf Coast Community College,” said Dr. Jim Kerley, President. “Our students have so many choices – everything from university transfer degree programs to technical career certificates – and they are really responding positively to our flexible schedules.”
