The Gators open up Fall workouts with John Brantley now running the show.

John Brantley thought the show was all his this season now that Tim Tebow is gone, but Gators coach Urban Meyer says Monday he wants to use a two-QB rotation this fall.

The Florida Gators opened up Fall workouts Thursday as they looked to begin the post Tebow era in Gainesville. Urban Meyer deemed his opening workout too secretive for the cameras, so no video of Florida's initial preseason practice with John Brantley working with the starting unit.
Meyer did decree some of the players could talk to the press afterwards, naturally John Brantley, who's taking over for Tebow at quarterback, getting a lot of attention. He said he'd waited three years for the chance to work with the "ones" and was thrilled with the way the practice went, given it was the first day. John was asked who in particular, impressed him in day one of practice.

"I think Deonte Thompson's playing well. Some people question his hands but what I saw he didn't drop a pass today. He's done a great job this Summer, working hard being one of the receivers of that wide receivers group. And our line, I mean, we don't have the pads on yet but I can just tell that our line is going to be a real good line for us."

The Gators open up the season September 4th at home against Miami of Ohio.
