College Football

It's obvious the nation's college football coaches believe Alabama is in good shape to defend it's national championship becuase those
¶coaches believe 'bama's worthy of the preseason number one ranking in their USA today coaches' poll.
Nick Saban's team, which ran the table last season, a perfect 14 and oh, getting 55 first place votes in this year's initial USA today poll, giving them a total of 14 hundred-69 points, easily ahead of number two Ohio State, which has 13 hundred-92 points and 5 first place votes.
The Tide does have some holes to fill on defense, but a ton of talent returns on offense, including Heisman winner Mark Ingram, starting q-b Greg McElroy and receiver Julio Jones. So it's easy to see why the coaches voting in this direction.

Nick Saban
Alabama Head Coach

"The players have worked hard in the offseason, we've had a good Summer overall. We feel like we're pretty healthy going into camp so we're pretty excited about what this team might be able to accomplish. I think accomplishment is all about action though and I think what our action is will be everything about what this team is able to achieve. And every guy on the team has to make a decision about what he's willing to do to make this team all it can be."
