South Walton-Coach David Barron is working with about 25 players on the varsity level. The Seahawks once again preparing to do battle in that 9 team 1-A district one.
So that means plenty of league games, and that puts a little extra pressure on getting the team prepared for the season that starts in just over 3 weeks.
Barron said, "You know we've had a good Summer, the kids worked hard by what you see there in the stands. We don't have a lot of numbers, it's gonna be a numbers crunch again this year." Barron said. " We have got a lot of kids that will be playing both ways, they're gonna have to be tremendously conditioned. They're gonna have to understand that and just tolerate the heat, even though it's been brutal. It's tough on 'em, but we're looking forward to an exciting season, and another great schedule, just a flip flop of last year."
The Seahawks play a preseason classic at Wewa on the 27th then open that regular season schedule at home against Franklin the following week.
