FSU fans are really hoping for, and expecting big things from receiver Bert Reed. Now it's apparant fans beyond the region are also expecting a big year from the Bay alum. The junior receiver is among 50 receivers named to the watch list for the 2010 Biletnikoff Award, which is presented annually by the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation to the nation’s top college wide receiver. The Panama City, Fla. native earned his place on the list by logging one of the most productive sophomore campaigns for a receiver in Florida State history, collecting 60 receptions for 710 yards. The team’s top returning receiver in 2010, he will be a main cog in the offense directed by quarterback Christian Ponder.
In just two seasons, Reed’s 83 career receptions rank sixth among active Atlantic Coast Conference players. He is on pace to rank among the top receivers in FSU history with two years of eligibility remaining.
