TUSCALOOSA, Ala- Every college football team will open up the season next week, and that includes the national champion Crimson Tide. They are still hard at work looking to repeat their success from a year ago.

The Crimson Tide have most of their starters back on offense, so the experience and leadership will have to come from that side of the ball.

Alabama is ranked number one in every major poll despite having to replace defensive stars like Rolando McClain, Terrance "Mount" Cody, and Javier Arenas. They are young on defense, but talented, and they will have to grow up fast in a tough SEC conference. "We still have a long way to go and a lot of young guys that need to make improvements, but we need to get more consistency so we get them where they want to be and where we need them to be." Head coach Nick Saban said. "So, they can affect their unit in a positive way."

The Crimson Tide kickoff the season on September 4th against San Jose State in Tuscaloosa.
