GAINESVILLE, Fla- The Florida Gators opened the season with a win over Miami of Ohio Saturday, and they are looking forward to fixing mistakes before they play South Florida this week.

In order to get better they'll have to look back at some of their mistakes. The gators offense struggled at times miss-handling several snaps with new quarterback John Brantley and new center Mike Pouncey. The offense didn't get on track until the fourth quarter. The gators only had 212 yards of total offense in the game, 72 of those yards coming on a big play from Jeff Demps who scored on a 72 yard TD run in the fourth.

This week the gators will work on those mistakes and hope to look better against the bulls. Coach Urban Meyer is using the mistakes as motivation.

"Urgency is a good thing.” Meyer said. “You know making mistakes and having a sense of urgency to correct them that's called athletics. Complacency, entitlement, and disinterest those shatter a program, those ruin a team, and the good thing is we have a sense of urgency right now."

Florida will have its next chance to show that urgency on Saturday against South Florida in the swamp at 11:20 central.
