High School Football

We're into week two of the high school football season, and suffice it to say it wasn't the best of opening weeks for the St. Joe football team.
The 1-A Tigersharks taking on 3-A Bay this past week, and coming up on the short end of a 47-6 score. The schedule no easier this week for coach Barth and his guys as they travel north to take on Rutherford, another 3-A football team. For Coach Barth though, he's not too concerned about the outcome of his team's first 3 ballgames, since none of them are within his district, and all against 3-A squads. That's the message to his players.

Vern Barth
Port St. Joe Head Coach

"I told 'em if you guys can get through Arnold, Bay and Rutherford and can learn you roles, and grow up a little bit more, I said the rest of our schedule is not gonna be near as physical and near as tough in terms of the type of opponent and the numbers factor that we're gonna see the rest of the year."

That St. Joe-Rutherford game by the way, a Thursday night game, 7 o'clock at Tommy Oliver.Stadium.
