First year coach Jeff Rolson and his Rutherford Rams are prepping for another Thursday night ballgame, a home game against Choctaw in the 3-A district one opener for both. Remember a couple of weeks ago, Rutherford beating St. Joe on a Thursday night game, more recently, the Rams facing county rival Mosley last Friday.
The Rams jumping out to an early 14-0 lead, only to see Mosley roar back and get a 49-21 win.
So Rutherford heads into district play with a 1-2 mark.

Rutherford Head Coach

"Hopefully we're learning from our football games. We felt like we gave one away, and we started well last week, but didn't execute, and got out-physicalled. We're still in a growing process and hopefully we're gonna turn a corner soon, the kids have worked hard."

Thursday's opponent Choctaw, which comes in oh and two, following losses to Catholic and Niceville.

They've struggled a little bit too, but their opponents have been very, very good. They're very skilled and we're gonna have to play great football to have a chance to win that football game. They're physical and aggressive, they're in the gun. They run option out of the gun, run triple option out of the gun. On defense, they're a physical hard nosed defense. They're as good as anybody we've played so we're gonna have to play great football to have an opportunity to win."

That game Thursday night at Tommy Oliver set for a 7 o'clock kickoff.
