Springfield, FL--It looks like a big change is in store within the Rutherford football program.

A source within county athletics has confirmed to Newschannel 7 sports Jeff Rolson is resigning his job as head coach, and apparently heading back to central Florida, perhaps taking a job with Apopka's football program.

Talk of Rolson leaving Rutherford has been floating around the area for quite some time, but apparantly nothing was official until last week.

The school's neither confirming nor denying Rolson's departure, but did send out an email today saying there will be a press conference at the school Monday morning with coach Rolson, to discuss the future of the program there.

Rolson the head coact at Rutherford the last two seasons, 3-7 in each, so 6-14 his overall record.

He is currently out of town, with some Rutherford weightlifters at the state meet in Kissimmee.
