When it comes to hauling in state title trophies, well, certainly Port St. Joe is best known for its basketball. That school's baseball program proved again this year that it's no slouch, winning its 3-A district two title, and then backing that up with a round one playoff win Tuesday night over Maclay. That had the Sharks hosting their region semifinal Friday against another Tallahassee school, North Florida Christian.
The latter with the leadoff man aboard, but Matt Gannon gets the 4-6-3 double play to squash that threat. Eagles starter Will West with good stuff early on though, keeping the St. Joe hitters in check, gets the strikeout.
To the top of the third, Eagles rallying again, runners at first and second, John Nagowski singles to left, one run comes home, and then the other runner scores on a throwing error, it's 2-0. Eagles add 2 more and hold on to win 4 nothing. Sharks end their season at 17-12
