A bad situation is even worse for the FSU football team. Sophomore linebacker Marcus Ball was been released from his scholarship Monday.
Ball is one of several players who did not make the bowl trip last season, so many assume he's part of the cheating scandal that rocked the program last December.
There were obviously other disciplinary issues as well with Ball.
All this aggravates the situation going into next year, so many first and second teamers starting the season suspended for three games, and that's something I talked about with Mickey Andrews during his visit to Panama City Friday night.
Mickey Andrews, FSU Defensive Coordinator, said, "We'll treat it kind of like those guys are injured. They can't play the first two or three weeks, and somebody's got to take their place, got to get some backups ready then and then find a way, be creative enough in practice, that we don't hold the guys back that need the reps. And yet we got to have those guys when they come back, ready to play because we're getting into the meat of our schedule then."
Andrews is here to address a local booster club Friday. FSU starts the season with Western Carolina and Chattanooga, Tennessee. Coach Andrews is most concerned with game three against Wake Forest, which has beaten FSU the last two seasons.
