Tuscaloosa, AL---It's not totally unexpected news concerning some early departures up in Tuscaloosa Friday.
Running back Eddie Lacy, corner Dee Milliner and Offensive Lineman D.J. Fluker, all juniors, all declaring for the NFL draft.
Lacy the starting tailback, 13 hundred yards rushing, 17 touchdowns.
Milliner, a Thorpe Award finalists, top five in passes defended this year.
And Fluker part of that incredible offensive line. His departure means only two starters return on that unit.
All three of these guys are likely to be first rounders, maybe early second round, so jumping early seems to be the logical thing to do, and coach Nick Saban certainly agrees with that thinking.
"I think that these guys have gone through the process that we have set up here in terms of age and education, the whole NFL experience in terms of helping their family and themselves. Making a good business decision about what they should do at this station in their career. And I support what these young men are doing in terms of what their future is and what their future can be."
Losing Lacy won't sting too much since Yeldon seems ready to shine big time, and oh yeah a kid out of Yulee Florida by the name of Derrick Henry is Tuscaloosa bound this summer, and he's pretty good!
