Williams Officially Out of the University of Alabama

TUSCALOOSA, AL --Arnold alum Eddie Williams is done in terms of University of Alabama football. Coach Saban, not unexpectedly, dismissing Williams and three other freshman players, Hayes, Pettway and Calloway from their scholarships Wednesday.

That after the UA's judicial review was completed which resulted in a statement Wednesday reading "The four students involved in the robberies on campus are no longer enrolled in UA."

The first three all charged with robbing and beating two Alabama students. Calloway charged with using a stolen credit card from those robberies.

So coach Saban's action of dismissing the four seems like simply a formality. The coach releasing a statement Wednesday saying "The players' actions do not reflect the spirit and character that we want our organization to reflect. It's obviously very disappointing and unacceptable what happened." He went on to say quote "some people learn by words, some can learn by consequences. Some people can't learn."

Eddie's attorney has filed a motion to get him tried as a youthful offender, the next court date is March 19th.

Pettway, Williams and Hayes are charged with two counts of second-degree robbery. Williams and Calloway are charged with fraudulent use of a credit card.

Williams confessed to robbing a student who was punched in the head and face and kicked in the ribs and back. He said Pettway and Hayes watched him commit another robbery from a nearby vehicle about an hour later. Hayes also confessed.
