The Florida Education Practices Commission last week barred Will Holley, Washington County's Athletic Director and Chipley Football Coach, from teaching for the next five years.
Monday he formally resigned after the commission heard testimony concerning suggestive text messages he sent to a female high school student in Ocala. He was a coach at Vanguard High School at the time.
Monday, Washington County School Superintendent Director Sandra M. Cook said she had received Holley’s resignation; meanwhile, school board officials say the position will be filled as soon as possible.
Holley faces a five year suspension of his teachers certificate and other sanctions
