Now to more upbeat news regarding student athletes.
We're into that early signing period for spring sports athletes, count Arnold senior hoopster Nate Hicks among those taking advantage today. He inked a scholarship deal this morning with Tulane University in New Orleans.
The 6-11 center a three year starter who last season averaged 16 points and 12 boards a game
for the Marlins.
Nate Hicks said, "Yeah, early signing was pretty much the ideal situation for me. I didn't really wan to go my senior season...so I can be a less selfish player and really worry about wins instead of my own stats. And it's a good thing for the whole team, not just me. "
Arnold Head Coach James Baxley said, "It's exciting for us, it's a good fit for Nate, he has family in the area. He likes the school, he's done his homework, I think he's making a good decision."
Nate by the way the first Arnold hoopster to sign a scholarship offer from a four year school!
