Freeport loses the 1a semi-final game between the bulldogs and Trinity Christian out of Jacksonville.

Freeport was having its best year ever at the school, and a win tonight could have sent them to the state championship game.

On a chilly night in the dog house, the bulldogs led by Coach Jim Anderson were doing their best to protect their house, but they couldn’t fend off Trinity losing 36-14.

The loss ends Freeport’s Cinderella run this year.

They end the season with a record of 11-2.

As a cheerleader from FHS, I just want to say that I am so proud of our boys this year =) We are district champs, regional champs, and we were the last 1A public school left. I am so proud to be a Freeport Bulldog!
