It's a big part of the aftermath of winning a championship, that trip back home and the reception the champs get from the hometown fans.
The Gulf Coast basketball team feeling that high Monday evening. Roonie Scovel and the Lady Commodores finishing the two day bus ride back from Salina Kansas around 6:30 tonight, landing at the Harrison Field House. The team greeted by dozens of fans, who are now basking in the third National Championship for this program. Shortly after she stepped off the bus we spoke with coach Scovel about this arduous championship run,

"it's about 7 months of work, you get here in august and you start preseason conditioning and you've got freshman...it's such a battle of emotions, pre-season ball, you just keep chugging along, on that last day you get to say you are the best.

The school will be hosting a more formal campus celebration tomorrow afternoon at 3.
