Juco Baseball

To juco baseball where Gulf Coast seems to be pulling away from the pack in the standings, but behind the 'dores, there's a four way fight for that second place spot and it's berth in the state tourney.
With a 10-4 win at Northwest Florida State Wednesday night, Chipola's now edged half a game ahead of TCC for second place. All in all it's been an odd season for Jeff Johnson's club, 18-17 overall, and 5-6 now in league play.

Jeff Johnson
Chipola Head Coach

"We've had two very good pitching performances the last two times out with Austin Ryan and Rodney Quintero, and we're starting to swing the bats a little bit better. So hopefully we're turning this thing back around. We've had a few guys get hurt, we're starting to get back healthy, and we lost two more guys last night. Andy Fermin went down last night he's had a pulled hammy for about four weeks, we got him back for about a week and he's down again. And Josh Allen our other second baseman seperated a shoulder diving for a ball last night. So we got the walking wounded a little bit, there's not any excuses though, we've got to figure out a way to get it done and get to the state tournament."

Chipola will host Northwest Florida State Friday at two.
