The Chipola Lady Indians went into the state tournament as one of the favorites to make it to the national juco tournament.
They lived up to the hype plowing their way into Sunday's district final against a State College team they’d already beaten in the tournament.
Chipola played at 9 a.m. Sunday in the championship game and the lady Indians take the gulf district title with a 13-8 win over State College of Florida.
The Lady Indians moved into the state final against the Atlantic Division Champion and #2 ranked Miami-Dade, and the Lady Indians explode in the state championship game winning 14-0. They scored 3 in the first, 2 in the 5th, 4 in the 6th, and 3 in the 7th to walk away with the title. They will now play in the national tournament beginning on May 19th in St. George, Utah.
