Lakeland, FL- The Chipola Indians live to play another day at the JUCO State Baseball tournament. The Indians won 3-2 after getting a strong 8 inning pitching performance from Rodney Quintero. He gave up 6 hits and 1 run while striking out 10 batters.
The Indians scored three runs in the bottom of the 5th to take a 3-0 lead. St. John's River answered with 1 in the top of the 6th, and another run in the top of the 9th for the final score.
Blake Newalu, and Tyler Wilson each had 2 hits and an RBI in the win. Chipola is now 26-24 on the year, and they will play the loser of the St. Petersburg versus Miami-Dade game on Saturday at 3 Central.
