Marianna, FL- Despite some heat several high school baseball players took to the field at Chipola College for the spring showcase put on by the Chipola baseball coaches. More than 30 seniors and some underclassmen showed up to show out a little bit and help with their recruiting.

Unsigned seniors were the main attraction for Chipola and several juco and division one scouts. It's an opportunity for these young men to catch on with a team after their senior year.

"This is our unsigned senior showcase along with juniors, sophomores, and freshman, so we kind of got a broad group out there today,” Chipola Head Coach Jeff Johnson said. “We're trying to get a look at the guys that are unsigned out there that could be part of our program here. And kind of get a feel for these young kids coming up for the next few years."

All the guys ran the sixty yard dash. They also ran through some catching and throwing drills, and batting practice during a days worth of workouts.

Chipola plays host to a similar showcase in the fall as well.
