It's a big weekend of racing ahead at Daytona this week and local team owner James Finch is certainly going to be a part of it. Finch's signed former Cup champ Bobby Labonte to drive the Phoenix number 9 chevy in Saturday night's Coke Zero 400, and having Labonte, who's 31st in points, on board provides Phoenix with one big advantage!
Phoenix Team owner
"You know the top 35 are locked in and so the teams like myself have to qualify on time. So you spend most of the practices getting ready for qualifying. So you don't have time to do your race setup and check the car out for your race setup, because if you don't get in, you don't get to race anyway. So now with Bobby we're guaranteed in the race so we can do practice runs in a race conditions and so that will help us a lot more for the race."
Finch gunning for his second Cup victory, the other coming last April at Talladega with Brad Keselowski at the wheel.
That race in Daytona Saturday night set for 7:30 eastern.
