To youth basketball and the Lynn Haven Wildcats had a mixed day Thursday up at that A-A-U National Championship in Memphis Tennessee.
The squad of 13 year olds, the state champs of Florida, winning their first game of the day, their first game in bracket play, they beat New Orleans 78-65.
That put the Wildcats into a late afternoon game against a team out of Indiana, and unfortunately for the Wildcats, they only got 40 minutes to eat and rest up between games, the Indiana team was playing it's first game of the day. The Lynn Haven coaches telling me their guys were spent, and they lost that second game 51-37. That eliminates them from title contention, but they can still win out and finish 7th nationally, and the coaches tell me that's what they are putting their minds to.
