Lane Kiffin may be at Southern California, but his program continues to churn out apologies to SEC powerhouses! Shortly after U-S-C was hit with probation, some other program contacted Dillon Baxter, a highly touted freshman recruit for the Trojans. That's an NCAA violaton! Southern Cal then sent a letter to the Pac-10 accusing five schools, including 'bama and Florida, of contacting the running back.
Baxter though later confirmed neither the Tide nor Gators had any contact with him.
So U.S.C. athletic director Mike Garrett's had to send a formal letter of apology to Alabama and Florida, writing quote "I apologize for any inconvenience or embarrassment this matter has caused you and your institution." unquote. Mr. Garrett should get used to sending out apologies as long as Kiffin is his head football coach!
