The Tigers were trying to avoid another upset against Mississippi State at home.

The Bulldogs defense with a big play early; Derek Pegues picks off the tipped pass and returns it 21 yards for the TD.

Mississippi state took a 10-0 lead at that point. Brandon Cox was benched and Auburn went to the ground; Ben Tate takes the handoff, goes inside, then out, breaks a tackle and cuts it back, a 28 yard td.

The Tigers took a 14-13 lead into the fourth, but Christian Dupree scores from five yards out to give the Bulldogs the lead.

Last chance for Auburn, Cox back in at QB, but his pass falls incomplete on fourth and goal. The Tigers drop two straight.

Mississippi State wins at Jordan-Hare Stadium, 19-14.
