Bonifay, FL- The under 16 title game came down to two Bay County teams.

Mosley and Rutherford squared off at 1o'clock at Holmes County High School.

The Dolphins jumped out to an early two nothing lead after Joey Hair hit a triple, scoring Dale Erving from first base to make it 1-0. The next batter, Alex Simoneaux, hit a liner to short and was thrown out at first, but not before Hair made it home from third for the 2-0 lead.

In the top of the fourth Mosley added to the lead with a Mason Downey liner to third. The third baseman and shortstop couldn't handle it, Simoneaux scored from third. Mosley went up 3-0.

Still in the fourth, Mosley loaded the bases with 1 out, and Ryan Lackey hit into what looked to be the 6-4-3 double play. The Rams got the out at second, but the second baseman sailed the throw to first. So, Hair and Downey come home for the 5-0 Mosley lead.

Rutherford tried to rally in the bottom of the 7th when Zack Davis hit a single to center, and Dondrell Harris scored to make it 5-1.

But that's the only run Rutherford would get, Hair went the complete game on the mound for the 5-1 win.

The Mosley Dolphins are the Dizzy Dean State Champs. As winners and runner-ups both these teams will play in the World Series in South Haven, Mississippi starting July 24th.
