Panama City Beach- Former Arnold 6-11 center Nate Hicks is bound for Georgia Tech. Hicks confirmed he did in fact sign a scholarship offer with coach Paul Hewitt and the Yellow Jackets late Tuesday.

Newschannel 7's Scott Rossman spoke with Nate today about why he chose Tech over Florida State, Auburn and other possibilities. He said Tech was on him the second he got his release from Tulane, and offered right away. FSU he says never officially offered, and told him they needed more time. Hicks says he chose to go to a program where he was really wanted. He adds it's an ACC program with a basketball history and it's close to home. And not the least of factors in his decision, Hewitt's told him he won't redshirt, because of numbers, he can't redshirt. Not only is there a chance he'll play a lot of minutes, he could even play himself into a starting role as a freshman.
