To racing news and Phoenix Racing Team owner James Finch shooting down an internet rumor Monday. Jayski and another site, MikeMulhern.net, without quoting a source, reporting Monday Finch was planning to shut down the 09 team at the end of this Sprint Cup season.
Finch says he's made no decision on that, and remains open to the proposition of hosting a team with Kasey Kahne at the wheel. Kahne will be in limbo next season as he awaits to start his contract with Hendrick to replace Mark Martin in the 5 car in 2012.
Finch says the rumor that those talks with Hendrick have fallen through are also bogus. James says that offer hasn't come yet, but again he remains open to it and in fact would jump at that opportunity in second.
