Tallahassee, FL--Seminole fans who enjoy spending New Year's in south Florida, well this should come as welcome news.

The ACC's extending it's contract with the Orange Bowl for some 12 years beyond 2014.

That means the ACC champ, unless it's one of the four teams in the new playoff scenario, will play in the Orange Bowl game, which will be played at one pm eastern on New Year's Day.

The Orange Bowl will be part of the new playoff format, so it will host at least 4 semifinal games in the new system.

Other leagues have already secured bowl tie-ins, the Big-Ten and Pac-12 still committed to the Rose Bowl. The SEC and Big 12 are creating the new "Champions Bowl" for their representatives.
