Alabama, Florida State at Top of BCS Standings

The inaugural BCS Standings were released Sunday night, as fans in Tuscaloosa and Tallahassee reacted in celebration, while those in Eugene were left looking for answers.

Alabama was slotted as the top team in the rankings, while Florida State followed in second, despite being ranked behind Oregon in both the AP and USA Today Rankings.

Seeding is set from a combination of the Harris Interactive Poll, the USA Today Coaches Poll, and a system of computer rankings.

Coming off a 51-14 win on the road over then third ranked Clemson, the Seminoles were the highest ranked team by the computers.

FSU leads Oregon by only three-thousandths of a point.
