TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) -- Alabama linebacker Dont'a Hightower feels like he's back in 2009 form.
Hightower says his surgically repaired left knee is recovered and he's maintained his playing weight of about 260 pounds for spring practice.
Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban says Hightower got "over the hump" physically during the offseason workout program. The junior finally shed his knee brace for the bowl game after having surgery to repair a torn ACL, MCL and meniscus in September 2009.
Fellow linebacker Nico Johnson says he doesn't think fans "have seen the best Dont'a Hightower."
Hightower started 12 games as a freshman but was injured four games into the 2009 season. He still returned for last spring and finished with 69 tackles.
