Lynn Haven, FL---It will be A.J. Allmendinger driving the Phoenix Construction Chevy again this weekend for James Finch and company.
A.J. with a 24th-place finish at Charlotte in the Phoenix ride this past weekend, and said he enjoyed racing with the Phoenix team, that's good enough for Finch to go with Allmendinger again.
A.J. lost his job with Penske Racing after a failed drug test this summer. He's trying to latch onto a team before the season concludes, and racing for Phoenix might be the push he needs to that end.
He's racing in the seat vacated by Kurt Busch who jumped to Furniture Row Racing. Kurt's replacement, Regan Smith, even before driving one race for Phoenix, jumped over to fill in for Dale Earnhardt Junior who decided to take a couple of races off last week.
