Several area teams took home district titles in boy's high school basketball Saturday.
In 2a district 3 it was a matchup between Port St. Joe and West Gadsden. The Tiger Sharks win their 18th district title in a row 47-43. Roman Quinn with 18 to lead the way. The 21-6 sharks play North Florida Christian at home next Thursday in the regional playoffs.
In district 2 of 2a Holmes County won going away over Cottondale to take the district title at home. Holmes County plays Freeport at home Thursday, the bulldogs were runner-ups in their district. Cottondale goes to District champ Baker.
In 3a district 1 the championship came down to Chipley and Marianna. Chipley keeps the undefeated season going with a 64-57 win to claim the district crown. Tigers are 26-0. A.J. Roulhac led the way with 31 points. They play East Gadsden at home Thursday. Marianna plays at Rickards
In 4a district 2 another district champion comes from this area as the Rutherford Rams beat Godby in overtime to claim the title. The Rams were led by John Wade with 19 points. Rams are now 22-3. They are at home against Pensacola Thursday.
In 5a district 2 the 25-1 Fort Walton Beach played Crestview, the only team to beat them this season, and the Vikings win 52-51. A.J. Shepard had 11 in the fourth quarter to lead the Vikings to a nail biting win. They are now 26-1. They play at home against Escambia on Thursday.
