PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla-There are several area teams playing in their respective district tournaments in high school softball this week.
In 3-A district one in fact, two teams now headed into the tourney final tomorrow night. That would be Arnold against Marianna on the latter's diamond. These two surviving what was a tough district slate all season, and a rather tough tournament as well.
"We did beat Chipley last night but they did beat us previously by one run and by five," Arnold Head Coach Rick Green said. "And then we play Marianna for the championship and they beat us both games by one run so it's a very evenly matched district. But you know the team that's gonna win it is the team that makes the least number of mental errors. Again you know it's supposed to be a neutral field but it's not and they're gonna have a loud crowd but you know we are too. We travel well so it will be a great environment."
That game at 6 Thursday night. Arnold goes in with a 21-6 record. Marianna now 20-7.
Also Thursday night at 6, the Lady Rams will be hosting the 4-A 2 final against Wakulla. Mosley faces Niceville for the 5-A two title Thursday, and at Holmes, the semi's of 2A-2 tomorrow South Walton and Sneads, Bozeman-Holmes.
