Arnold Head Baseball Coach Mitch Kelly Resigns

Panama City Beach, FL---There is a big change coming on the area's high school baseball front. More specifically a coaching change within the Arnold baseball program.

Arnold head coach Mitch Kelly confirming to us Wednesday morning he's handed in his resignation as the Marlins head coach. He says he tendered that resignation Tuesday afternoon.

The coach informing his players of his decision to resign at a meeting Wednesday morning.

Coach Kelly admitting he was feeling some pressure from some of the Arnold baseball parents, but his decision he says is based more on the pressure he's put on himself.

Kelly has a young son who's now playing ball himself and he told me he's beginning to feel guilty that he's spending most of his time with other people's kids, and not his own.

Kelly was under fire by the Arnold baseball boosters, coming off a 6-17 season, his 8th as the Marlins head coach. All but two of those seasons losing seasons, and just one playoff appearance for Arnold in that span.

Coach Kelly told me he does want to coach again, but for now will be happy focusing his time on his family.
