We start on the high school football front, and over at Arnold.
Coach Hale and his Marlins you might say licking their wounds after a roller coaster overtime loss at Choctaw. Friday night.
Arnold at one point leading 21-7, Choctaw rallied, and won it in O-T after the Marlins went for two and failed, thus the game ending 49-48. That decision to go for the win, one that Hale doesn't regret.....
Arnold Head Coach
"And we got down there at the end, had the opportunity to win the game, went for it, and just missed it by a little bit. That's what happens when you go for it, sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn't. It was a heartbreaking loss, I've never seen our kids so emotional after a game, most of them were bawling after the ballgame. But we gotta step it up, we got the defending state champ and they're probably better this year than they were last year."
The coach is talking about Pensacola, the 3-A one district leader at 5 and oh, and a team that's won 19 straight games.
"They're one of the fastest team speeds that I've seen in high school football. They fly to the football, they do a great job, they spread the field. And we've had a hard time with teams that spread the field and throw the football. We've stopped the run pretty good, we have a hard time versus the pass."
The Marlins must improve quickly, Pensacola beat that same Choctaw team 49-0 two weeks ago. That game in Pensacola 7 Friday.
